Unit 3: Research figures & best prices from websites

Here I will be researching different figures and best prices from a variety of venue websites, catalogues, hire companies to ensure I find the best possible Venue for my budget.

The Cubic Theatre - London Transport Museum:

Hire Details:
  • Capacity - 121 maximum.
  • Hire Price - £1,300 (hald day), £2,000 (full day), £500 per extra hour.
  • All prices are exclusive of VAT.
The Cubic theatre is perfect for a seminar, presentation or a film screening. It seats 121 maximum,
eleven rows of eleven which are conveniently tiered with specially designed moquette seating. It also has a breakout foyer where you can carry out your registration, cloakroom service and have refreshment breaks, buffet lunches or networking with drinks and canapés etc. All theatre AV such as a projector, large projection screen, speakers, lectern, stage area, microphones and Wifi is included. The only additional costs are the Cubic Foyer LCD screens at only £150 (great for branding) and of course catering. All delegates receive complimentary access to the Museum galleries during the day of their event.

I would need the venue for 2 half days giving me a total of £3,000, for rehearsal spaces I would use the Sealight Theatre for a discounted rate because I am a student of Worthing College and I would also do something in-kind, such as set up a workshop or lesson, or a day of theatre related activites in order to get the thetare space at a discounted rate of half price = £100 for a full day.

The Albany Theatre - London:

Hire Details:
  • Capacity - 350 maximum theatre, 500 maximum standing.
  • Hire Price - £90 her hour.
Great for live music and theatre shows, with the potential to perform in-the-round, or for circus and aerial work. We have a professional technical team to support your hire, and welcome you as part pf our wider programme.

Features of this theatre:

  • AV Equipment
  • Balcony Bar
  • Theatre Lighting
  • Cafe
  • Large Garden
  • Licensing until 4am
  • TENs Available
  • 185m2 (1991ft2)
  • Ceiling height 5m  (16ft2)
  • Disabled Access
  • Outside Space
  • Ticketed Events
  • Amplified Events
  • Own Music/ DJ Equipment.
I would need the venue for 2 days at 12 hours each day therefore it would cost me £2,160 to hire this venue out but it does make it cheaper to go with this theatre rather than The Cubic Theatre as this theatre includes all things such as a bar and a cafe meaning I would not have to pay for refreshemnts to be sold but then it also means that I would have a lower income as I would not be making a profit of the refreshments that are sold as those profits go to the Theatre.

Therefore the cheaper option would be to go with the Cubic Theatre because it also gives the same things included in the price such as: Lighting and sound equipment.
