Unit 40: M.I.D Rehearsal 09/11/17
In this Made in Dagenham rehearsal we blocked with the year 12's as well all of the pay up to page 14. Although we didn't get far in the script we blocked a lot and filled in all of the gaps that needed filling. We also created a dance for scene 2 Act 1, which contains all of the women whom are in that scene from the Ford Factory, including myself as 'Beryl'.
Furthermore, We are practising the production in a group-rehearsal which includes not only all of the Year 13's but also all of the year 12's and we haven't really started on practising the songs yet as a group but we have been practising the songs either one-to-one or by ourselves in our spare time. To help me learn the music for the show I have been listening to the soundtrack from the west-end production of Made in Dagenham on Spotify. I sing the ensemble songs with mostly the girls but I do have one liners within the ensemble songs, such as: 'This is what we want' and many more.
In my own time I am helping myself develop my character by learning my lines to an exceptional standard. But in my spare time I also took the time to go and watch the Made in Dagenham performance at the Pavilion in Worthing where they showed the production. This helped me develop my character as much as possible by seeing someone else play that part and to be able to see how my character 'Beryl's' voice is shown and how she acts and what her personality is like. This then leads onto me developing my character even further by learning my lines in my own time and also developing my character further every time we rehearse.
