Brentwood School - Performing Arts Technical Assistant (£900 Two Weeks Work)
Brentwood School Performing Arts Department has a number of events running from Mid-November until December. We require a person to shadow the School’s Performing Arts Technical Manager for a period of two weeks. Tasks will include (but will not be limited to): manual handling, set & props building, and rigging and operating of sound & lighting equipment. Tasks will be completed safely under the guidance and close supervision of the Performing Arts Technical Manager. This role could suit a person newly qualified with a technical theatre background or similar with an interest in lighting and sound.
This is a temporary post for two weeks ONLY. As such we are seeking a person to work on a self-employed basis.
You will be available to work most days from Monday 20th November until Sunday 3rd December. We will require you to work two 45 hour weeks including weekends and some evenings. The job will pay £10 per hour (£900 for two 45 hour weeks) plus overtime (if needed) and will include paid 30 minute lunch breaks with meals provided.
The closing date for applications is on 1pm Wednesday 15th November, however job offers could be made for the right person prior to the closing date.

- Imperative that you have a Secondary Mainstream Teaching Certificate (UK recognised)
- Experience must be in a Secondary Mainstream School
- KS3 & KS4 (minimum) performing arts teaching (in a secondary mainstream school)
- Must be a 'Good' to 'Outstanding' experienced Performing Arts Teacher
- You must be an Inspirational & Creative Teacher
- Must have be an experienced Performing Arts Teacher / Coordinator / 2IC / a TLR post or already a Head of Department
- Must have Managerial and Leadership experience (in a secondary school)

Due to departmental changes, In September 2018, this school located on the Borders of Bromley has an opening has a new permanent post for a Head of Performing Arts (MPS / UPS + TLR). The successful Head of Performing Arts must have a secondary school teaching qualification (QTS). In addition the newly appointed Head of Performing Arts must be an experienced secondary trained teacher who has secondary mainstream school (Drama/ Music / Dance). This is an opportunity to put your stamp in the department, to successfully manage a team. It is imperative that you have or have had a TLR post to be considered (2IC, Coordinator, AST, already a Head of Performing Arts). This is a senior post managing a large team so it is essential that you have managerial and leadership capabilities for this head of Performing arts role.
